WINDOWS 11 PACKET LOSS

Find where packets are being lost before changing random settings.

Use RaceMyNet as a baseline, then compare wired and wireless results. Packet loss that disappears on Ethernet points toward the local Wi-Fi path; loss that remains may sit elsewhere on the route.

Retest on Ethernet

This is the fastest way to separate Wi-Fi interference from an ISP, router or route problem.

Restart the network path

Restart the PC and router, then retest before making deeper changes. Temporary faults and overloaded equipment can clear after a clean restart.

Update adapter drivers

Use a current driver from the hardware manufacturer, especially after major Windows updates or when the issue started after a driver change.

Disable heavy transfers

Pause cloud backups, torrents, game updates and large uploads. Saturated queues can make packet delivery less consistent.

Check one app versus everything

If only one game or service loses packets while other destinations are stable, the problem may be route- or server-specific.

Avoid random registry tweaks

Generic gaming registry edits rarely identify the actual loss point and can make troubleshooting harder. Measure first, then change one thing at a time.
