Why is my download speed slow on PC?
A slow game or file download does not always mean your broadband is slow. The server, launcher, disk and PC can all become the bottleneck.

Separate line speed from application download speed.
Run RaceMyNet first. If the browser speed test is fast but one launcher is slow, focus on that launcher, its server region, download limits, storage performance and security scanning.
Compare Mbps correctly
Internet plans and speed tests use megabits per second. Many download apps show megabytes per second; divide Mbps by roughly eight for a rough MB/s comparison.
Try Ethernet
A wired test removes Wi-Fi signal and interference as variables and shows the best local-network baseline.
Check launcher limits
Steam, Battle.net, Xbox and other launchers can have bandwidth limits or schedules enabled.
Watch disk usage
Decompression, patching and antivirus scanning can make a download pause or slow even while the network is capable of more.
Disable VPN for a comparison
A VPN adds another route and endpoint. Test with it off to see whether it is limiting throughput.
Try another server or time
Content servers can be busy or region-limited. A fast RaceMyNet result alongside a slow single download often points away from the broadband line.
